FAQs
Who Can Be Nominated?
You can nominate any volunteer who lives or does volunteering in Blackpool. This person can be in paid employment elsewhere but can only be nominated for their voluntary work.
Nominees must also not be relatives or be directly managed by a member of the judging panel.
Can I nominate myself / my own organisation?
Yes, there are no restrictions on nominating yourself or an organisation you are part of.
How will the winners be picked?
Each nomination will be sent to our independent panel of judges. They will review each submission based on the supporting reasons for nomination and vote between them on which entry they feel best meets the award category.
All nominees whether they are chosen as a winner or not, will receive a certificate acknowledging their nomination and thanking them for their dedication and the impact they have made.
What happens if I/my nominations win an award?
The winners will be announced at our ceremony in December, all category winners will be invited to receive a trophy for their category and have their picture taken. They will not need to provide a speech.
Can I nominate someone for multiple awards?
While you may nominate someone for multiple awards, we do ask that you aim for one nomination per person/group. While we appreciate that there are some amazing individuals that go above and beyond in many ways, we wish to include as many people as possible in the event.
Where will the awards ceremony take place?
The awards ceremony will be held at the Winter Gardens, and will be free to attend, though please note that spaces are limited. All attendees are invited to enjoy coffee and cake, and the award winners will be presented with a trophy for their category.
More information on the event, including tickets to reserve your place will be updated soon.
How can I attend the Event?
Invitations will be sent out in late October/Early November, we have limited spaces available, so will initially extend an invitation to groups and volunteers who have been shortlisted and their guests. Following this, tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis. We hope that in the future we can host even bigger events to include more of Blackpool’s fantastic volunteers
